Exchange with Chasetown Community School, Staffordshire, UK

Our School was visited by three teachers from Chasetown Community School, Staffordshire, UK as a part of D.F.I.D global school partnership programme that supports around 300 schools partnership between India and the UK schools.

It was their maiden visit which provided them a unique opportunity to learn about Indian education system, art and culture, history and heritage. The guests were extended a formal welcome by the school Principal Ms. Alka Kapur.

During their 5 days stay, they were taken to places like RedFort, Lotus temple, Raj ghat, Akshardham temple, etc. to witness India’s rich cultural and historical heritage. They also attended various in-house workshops which acquainted them with the Indian heritage. Also the interactive sessions with students and teachers familiarized them with the Indian education system and teaching-learning methodologies.

A rally on Save nature was also taken out in and around the areas of the school and it saw an enthusiastic participation of the guests. A tree plantation drive was also carried out to save the earth which is one of the joint projects taken by both the schools.

Both the schools for the past one year have worked collaboratively on projects based on festivals, dances, culture, food and Save nature. The partnership has opened up new avenues for our school. Regular exchange of emails and projects has generated a lot of excitement among the students and staff has taken the teaching and learning process from local to a global level.

The guests from UK expressed their appreciation for the Indian culture and customs. They were overwhelmed with the hospitality of Indian partners and appreciated the efforts of the management and staff members for making their visit a memorable one. The head teacher Ms. Linda James from UK left on a positive note for the forth coming exchange programme between Modern Public School and Chasetown Community School, Staffordshire UK.
